BLUEBEAN now offers you the benefits of funeral cover. It offers cash benefits as well as value-adding benefits to you and those covered under your policy. These include:
- Doctor network – provides access to a list of doctors who give you and those insured under your policy a 20% discount on consultation fees and any medical procedures performed in the doctor’s consulting room. The 20% discount also applies to a package deal where basic medication is dispensed by the doctor as part of the treatment and the cost is included in the consultation fee.
- Emergency ambulance – in the event of medical emergency such as a heart attack or motor vehicle accident the insured will be transported to a medical facility anywhere in South Africa free of charge. In addition, should the injured person be unable to produce proof of medical aid membership or pay for their admission, a payment of up to R5 000 is guaranteed to ensure hospital admission until the insured person is able to reimburse the service provider or claim from their medical aid.
- Funeral Assist - Provides assistance on how to apply for a death certificate and the necessary documentation if burial will be outside Republic of South Africa (RSA). Will provide referrals for Pathologist for post mortem if death is unnatural. Arrange for removal of mortals within the borders of South African Republic where the customer pays for the cos. We will provide for overnight accommodation for the accompanying next of kin to the value of R500 due to repatriation.
- Bereavement Counselling - after the funeral the family will receive a call that will provide counselling to help them deal with loss of loved one/s.
- Trauma counselling – provides counselling for any stress related incident and disease management such as HIV, AIDS and CANCER. Stressed patients are given relaxation techniques that will help them cope. Where required the nurses will provide referral to psychological counselling from a public centre or private institution.
- EA Touch – provides assistance for any traumatic experience the insured person may encounter such as rape, hijacking, accident, domestic violence, suicide, child abuse, kidnapping or abduction. In addition an ambulance will be sent to the scene of accident free of charge. No limit to the ambulance service.
- Medical treatment – provides up to R5 000 per insured for medical treatment for any bodily injury up to the maximum of R10 000 per family per occurrence.
- Medical Assist – Deals with any health query 24 hours, 365 days. Qualified nurses provide assistance on information relating to; Emergency medical advice, poisoning, stress management, advise on prescribed drugs and health counselling on AIDS, Cancer or any chronic disease. Where necessary arrange for an ambulance at no cost to the customers.
- Home Assist – a 24-hour service helpline offering assistance with emergency household repairs such as electricity, hot water or sanitation. Service providers will be sent to you in the event of electrical and plumbing problems. In addition, a service provider will be sent in the case of an essential appliance needing repairs such as a fridge, freezer, washing machine, stove or oven. The services are available at preferential rates to you and those insured under your policy.
